I just got off the phone with Ken about my BMW. There was a communication issue between the technician and the sales associate on the replacement of the thermostat. Ken had discussed this issue with both and acknowledged there was not a problem with the thermostat. The tech is new to his shop and he made an incorrect decision based on the length of time it took the car to heat up. This was an honest mistake and lesson learned not to communicate a problem without complete diagnosis (in this case an error code) of the problem. Happy customer once again. Thanks Ken for the time and discussion. I have been a loyal customer at KAMS for many years and believe they were a top repair shop. There have been recent events with my BMW and my son's Nissan that has changed my opinion. I both cases there were multiple trips to the shop to repair the cars. In both cases I had expressed a lack of confidence the problems were resolved. The most recent was my BMW with a cooling system problem. It was fully rebuilt by KAMS in Dec 2015. In June 2017 there were multiple failures of the cooling system. The water pump was replaced again with several hoses. That was nearly $2000 spent on the system in less than 2 years. I took the car back for unrelated services and was told my thermostat was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $600+. I expressed significant dissatisfaction of that news and asked the Sale Associate to make Ken aware of my dissatisfaction. Ken had a great shop and could again. My cars won't go back for a while.
